Each day, I'll update this list to include (top is most recent) the day's guest blogger with a collection of links to each post.
5/7:
Raised in Nigeria and Pakistan, Iram Parveen Bilal
is a graduate of Caltech ’04 and USC’s School of Cinematic Arts
’07. She is also a Watson Fellow ‘05.
Bilal has directed short films, commercials and music videos and is working on
making her directorial debut as a feature filmmaker. As a Pakistani woman, she
is conscious of the rare opportunity and voice she has on the filmmaking
playground today and is determined to make the best of it for peace, tolerance
and understanding in today's exceedingly polarized world.
5/6:
Leighland Feinman (BS
Caltech ’08 Biology, History) is a PhD student at the Mount Sinai School of
Medicine, training in microbiology. He
is also an aspiring science fiction writer, and examiner.com’s New York Science
News Examiner. See his examiner page at http://www.examiner.com/x-4809-NY-Science-News-Examiner
5/5:
Lynn graduated from Caltech with a BS in Biology and is now
living the piled higher and deeper life where the coyotes roam while
investigating the daily melodrama of yeast genetics. In her spare time she can
be found learning how to be restless in suburbia without a car, writing as
creatively as her sleep schedule allows, and applying the tenets of literary
criticism to inane ramblings from the internet.
5/4:
Caleb Ng is a senior at the California Institute of Technology, where
he studies bio stuff and did some quite cool things with the student
government and faculty administration. Following graduation, he plans
on unwinding for a few weeks followed by a relocation to NYC, where he
will be working for Opera Solutions, a technical consulting firm. He
also didn't write this, so factual caveats apply. [ed-It's mostly
correct]
4/30:
Beth graduated from Oregon State University in September with a B.S. in
Environmental Science, and a B.A. in Spanish. She is currently a
professional server breaker at a small microprocessor company, which
you’ve probably never heard of. Her partner in crime is an adorable
Ecuadorian mutt. She has a blog
which she infrequently updates, a 1988 Volvo wagon named Sheldon, and
she would secretly like to have a date with Randall Munroe.
4/29:
Sean Mattingly has a Physics BS from Caltech and is working at IPAC at Caltech
looking at stars and doing image analysis until he goes to graduate school in
Physics somewhere. Nowadays he is a huge nerd and does physics, looks at stars,
and surfs, and prowls the internet as Hamster_style owning noobs in DotA.
4/28:
Sonia Tikoo graduated from Caltech this past June, and is
now tackling graduate school in planetary science at That Other Institute of
Technology (a.k.a. MIT). When she’s not screaming at computer models or
begging for moon rocks, she is usually found watching sci-fi or scouring the
Internet for celebrity gossip and pictures of fluffy bunnies.
4/27:
Dick creates the future and beats back the darkness with his
homebrew photon warheads. He is a graduate of the MIT Media Lab and is
available for consulting work and birthday parties. He cowrites a blog from time to time.
Guest Admin:
Craig Montuori graduated from Caltech last June, and now he's making his way
into politics on the East Coast. His love of history has left him with
a tendency to talk about things that happened before he was born like
he was there for them, and has also led him to starting up crazy
projects and revivals of past traditions on little more than a
whim—though they always end up awesomely.
